ISO3741 Comparison Method

Description

The ISO3741 comparison method block determines the sound power levels based on calculations from ISO 3741:2010 Determination of sound power levels and sound energy levels of noise sources using sound pressure - Precision methods for reverberation test rooms.

The sound power is calculated based on the comparison method where the sound pressure of the Noise sound source (ST) is compared to the sound pressure of a reference sound source (RSS) with a known sound power in a reverberant test room.

Mx1Mx1MxIMxIMxIL'wL'w(RSS)L'i,p(RSS)L'i,p(ST)L'i,p(B)

Input

L'w(RSS) Reference Source Sound Power, is the sound power level (dB) of the reference source in M one-third-octave bands from 100 Hz to 10 000 Hz specified in IEC61260. The Reference Sound Source should comply with ISO6926.

L'i,p(RSS) Reference Source Sound Pressure, is the sound pressure level (SPL) of the reference sound source measured in M one-third-octave bands in I microphone positions.

L'i,p(ST) Noise Source Sound Pressure, is the sound pressure level (SPL) of the noise source measured in M one-third-octave bands in I microphone positions.

L'i,p(B) Background Noise Sound Pressure, is the sound pressure level (SPL) of the background noise measured in M one-third-octave bands in I microphone positions.

Output

L'w Noise Source Sound Power, is the determined sound power level (dB) of the noise source in M one-third-octave bands from 100 Hz to 10 000 Hz. Dependent on weighting the output can be determined as L'wA being the A-weighted sound power level.
